The Supreme Court has quashed the writ petition filed against the nine-point agreement between the CPN (UML) and the UCPN (Maoist).
A single bench of Acting Chief Justice Sushila Karki repealed the writ, reasoning it did not need legal test as it was purely a political matter.
A week back, Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had signed the nine-point agreement.
Three advocates, in the writ petition, had argued that the nine-point agreement breached the transitional justice, human rights and independence of judiciary. RSS
