“Why this show-business on the road without any reason?” said PM Oli. “If you are really into politics to work for the people, come and join our hands to volunteer in the reconstruction of earthquake-ravaged regions.”
Speaking at a programme organised by his party CPN-UML in the Capital on Monday, PM Oli remarked that the Gathabandhan has now come to Kathmandu after people stopped supporting it following extreme hardships they had to suffer during the months-long Tarai banda and blockade.
The Gathabandhan’s Kathmandu-centric protest that commenced on Saturday has affected normal lives of valley denizens.
PM Oli warned of resorting to strict legal measures to discourage violence in the alliance’s protest. “I urge concerned stakeholders to stage peaceful demonstration. Do not resort to vandalism,” he said, “I have sensed that leaders are trying to adopt violet paths. There is law in our country and government is committed to implementing it when necessary.”
The PM also said that there is terrible conspiracy hidden behind the alliance’s demand to rewrite the constitution. “The constitution was written with ninety-two percent majority and how can you say that you do not agree with the constitution?” PM Oli questioned. “Not accepting the decision taken in adherence to established method and procedures is not the essence of democracy,” he said.
PM Oli reiterated that he would work for the interest of people. He said his intentions are well manifested by the policy and programme and the upcoming budget will further clear them.
