A meeting of the Gathabandhan held at Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal’s party office in Tinkune on Monday concluded that the Kathmandu-centric protest has, so far, been satisfactory.
The Gathabandhan that staged demonstrations outside Singha Durbar and picketed prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar earlier has announced that it will continue its protest in the Capital till Saturday.
PM calls all-party meeting
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called an all-party meeting on Tuesday to discuss and find ways to resolve the Madhes crisis.
Political parties represented in Parliament have been invited.
A leader from the Sanghiya Gathabandhan, an alliance of Madhesi and Janajati forces, however, said its leaders will not attend the meeting. The Madhesi forces had earlier also snubbed an all-party meeting called by PM Oli.
“This is a ploy to split the Gathabandhan,” said Rajendra Shrestha, a leader of the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal.
