Third ‘Nepal Nirman’ begins

The two-day-event has brought together leaders from different frontiers—economic, social, media and governance—to discuss development of various sectors of the economy and challenges hindering economic development of the country.
“Nepal has now moved forward to a new era of economic development and the government is committed to modernise crucial sectors of economy,” said Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, inaugurating the event. “The government is committed to creating an investment-friendly environment in the key sectors like agriculture, industry, tourism and others.”
PM Oli underscored the need for equal development of all sectors through optimum utilisation of available natural and human resources and their effective management.
The event is being organised with an objective to hold discussions on issues and new ideas of development of various sectors like environment and alternative energy, tourism, sports, media among others. On the first day, experts held discussions on alternative energy promotion, natural beauty of Nepal, politics in sports and growth and prosperity through economic upliftment. Innovative ideas like rooftop rainwater harvesting, green homes, waste paper bricks, TourHelp, seed bombing, TechVest and others were discussed on Friday.
“The Country has tangled itself in political transitions and debate for a long time now and has lacked behind in economic development,” said CNI President Hari Bhakta Sharma. “The discussions should now shift towards issues like employment, investment, industry development and self-reliance.”
According to Sharma, every citizen should now focus on identifying and solving the economic issues through investment, hard work and discipline.
“We hope that a feasible environment for investing in Nepal is created soon such that Nepal sees a huge inflow of investment in the upcoming years.”
