Dr KC to begin hunger strike if past agreements not implemented

This will be the seventh time Dr KC will stage a hunger strike demanding reforms in Nepal's medical sector.
The senior TUTH doctor has put forth a four-point demand to the government seeking endorsement of the Health Profession Education Policy Draft by the Legislature-Parliament. He has also sought several amendments in the draft that include free seats at government medical colleges and establishment of at least one medical college in each province.
Likewise, Dr KC, regarding the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) taking over the entrance examination of Kathmandu University School of Medicine after suspecting a question leak, has also demanded the parliament launch an impeachment motion against CIAA Chief Commissioner Lokman Singh Karki and take action against other commissioners.
Similarly, the agitating doctor has demanded the government take back the Manmohan Adhikari Academy of Health Sciences-2015 bill.
The TUTH professor has also demanded that government implement past agreements reached with him that includes appointment of deans on the basis of seniority and seats and fees be determined as per the merit.
