House to resume business after parties reach agreement

As per the agreement, quake victims will be provided Rs 150,000 for the construction of houses in the first instalment and the remaining Rs 50,000 will be provided after the construction is completed.
A meeting of top leaders of major parties in New Baneshwor reached an agreement in this regard, informed UML’s Chief Whip Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal.
Major opposition Nepali Congress had been obstruction parliament for the past five days demanding the lump sum be provided to quake victims.
Earlier, a taskforce formed to resolve the row reached an agreement but failed to sort out the instalment amount. The taskforce meeting on Wednesday agreed to provide the sum in two instalments of Rs 150,000 and Rs 50,000. A meeting of the leaders today had given the final shape to that agreement. Taskforce members Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Bhim Rawal had apprised the PM after consensus was reached within the taskforce.
PM KP Sharma Oli, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Pushpa Kamal Dahal and other senior leaders were present in the meeting.
