Aitaram Tamang (12) and Aashish Tamang (6), sons of Megh Bahadur Tamang, were killed in the landslide that occurred at around 7:45am, said police. Megh Bahadur’s eight-year-old daughter Bimala, who was rescued alive, is receiving treatment at a primary health centre in Deurali. According to the villagers, the landslide occurred around 200 metres above the settlement where there are nine households.
Meanwhile, floods triggered by heavy rains damaged a bridge over the Salakhu stream in the district on Tuesday night.
Kalikasthan-Rasuwagadhi road cleared
RASUWA: Transportation along the Kalikasthan-Rasuwagadhi road section resumed after two dozers cleared the debris on Wednesday. Landslides had blocked the road at several places for the past two days. Rasuwagadhi customs also came into operation on Wednesday. Twenty containers ferrying goods from China entered Nepal on Wednesday.
