12 tonnes of waste collected from Bagmati, Bishnumati

The cleaning took place in the Teku area of Lalitpur where 6 tonnes of waste was extracted from the Bagmati river and its banks.
Officials from the Bagmati Civilisation Integrated Development Committee, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, the Armed Metropolitan Police, Kathmandu Metropolitan City and civil society organisations joined hands in the campaign, according to committee member Narayan Shrestha.
The Teku confluence area of the Bishnumati river was also cleaned up, according to campaigner Anil Dharel.
Garbage along the Rudramati river section from Ratopul to Gaushala was also collected while 275 saplings of various species were planted, member of Rudramati Sarokar Samaj Rohit Giri said.
