The match was played for a noble cause of chipping in 50 percent of the revenues in “Nepal rebuilding” and it allowed a rare opportunity for players to play at the ‘home of cricket.’ Nepal scored 217-8 in 50 overs and restricted MCC for 176 runs in 47.2 overs. Nepal are touring London as part of their ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Championship matches against the hosts Netherlands on August 13 and 15 at Aberdeen. Here is how the Nepali cricketers shared their feelings after the game.
Sandeep Lamichhane
History was made today (Tuesday), we beat MCC at their home. Its a dream of every cricketer to play at the Lord’s and that dream has come true. We now have to think of maintaining this dream run.
Gyanendra Malla
To play at Lord’s as a cricketer from a country like ours is something unthinkable. When we came here the last time and passed through this stadium, we wanted to have a photo. But we actually played here and it was wonderful feeling, a moment to cherish.

I don’t know the kind of magic this environment holds. Everything was special: people and the dressing room. I cannot explain how it felt to watch the match from the balcony. Even two days earlier we were watching first Test between England and Pakistan. Turning our dream into reality is something I cannot explain in words.
Sompal Kami
We heard about Lord’s and its beauty through television. Everything was special—from the grass to the wickets. I learnt quite a few lessons to bowl here through TV commentaries. We had one dream of World Cup and next was playing at Lord’s. We accomplished both.

Being in the playing XI for this game was itself a big opportunity. I just wanted to feel the pitch and, though I didn’t get to bat, I had already lived a dream. The crowd here was ecstatic and its great to have them in such a historic day. To hear the crowd saying “Shakti Shakti” at the Lord’s was special for me.
