Winners at TNFF felicitated
Laaz, directed by Sushan Prajapati, won the Audience Choice Award along with a cash purse of 1,600 CAD; while Butte Jama, directed by Kala Sangroula, won the Jury Award, along with cash purse of 500 CADThe Indigenous Film Archive on Thursday organised a programme at Mandala Theatre to felicitate the films that bagged different awards at the Toronto Nepali Film festival, held in Toronto, Canada, on March this year.
Felicitated during the event were a total of 11 independent films that were screened during the festival: Bhagya le Bachekaharu; Butte Jama; Boy Across My window; Castaway Man; Chhora; Drawing the Tiger; Laaz; Machha ko Sapana; Tears Alive; Gaantho; and The Dishwasher.
Out of more than 75 films that were submitted for the festival, the 11 aforementioned films were selected for the screening. Among which, Laaz, directed by Sushan Prajapati, won the Audience Choice Award along with a cash purse of 1,600 CAD; while Butte Jama, directed by Kala Sangroula, won the Jury Award, along with cash purse of 500 CAD.
The awardees were felicitated by acclaimed director Tsering Ritar Sherpa.
