Parliament meet begins, deliberations continue on no-confidence motion

The discussion on the no-trust motion will be held until Sunday and voting on the proposal will be conducted on the same day after PM Oli replies to the queries raised by lawmakers, according to Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar.

House to continue deliberations on no-trust motion today
The Legislature-Parliament will continue discussions on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, registered by CPN (Maoist Centre) and Nepali Congress, on the second consecutive day on Saturday.
While speaking at Parliament on Friday, Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who has registered the no-trust motion, said that PM Oli’s “self-centric” actions prompted his party to seek to remove his government.
House Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar ended the House meeting after deliberations continued till late night and announced the meeting would resume at 11 am Saturday.
A total of 298 votes are required to pass the no-trust motion. The NC-Maoist Centre alliance claims they have 341 votes in its support.
The no-trust motion is also supported by agitating Madhes-based parties.
