Five persons have been killed in two separate landslides in Gulmi district while three of a family were buried in Makwanpur district.
Landslide swept away a house of BhimBahadurDarji in HastichaurVDC in Gulmi killing Darji's sister Kalika, 62, spouse Tulasi, 49, and daughter-in-law Asmita, 19. One neighbor who had reached for rescue was injured.
Similarly, two children were buried at Padampani in Bisukharka-9 of the district. One GopalBahadurRana's house was buried killing his nine-year-old son Sijan and six-year-old daughter Simana.
A ninth grader Ashmi BK was killed when her house was buried at Jhumsa in Dovan VDC of Palpa district.
Three members of a family were buried at Solbhanjyang in Bhimphedi-5, Makwanpur. Bikash Rumba, 27, his wife Parbati and son Bikash, 6, were killed in the landslide.
Meanwhile, four persons have gone missing in a landslide at Lung VDC in Pyuthan. Police said they went missing after two houses were buried by a landslide last night. Continuous rainfall has hampered the search operation, police said.
