No flights: Over 200 stranded in Everest region
Jul 27, 2016-
Incessant rainfall and foggy conditions have obstructed flights to and from Phaplu, Lukla and Syangboche airports in the district for the last 11 days, leaving more than 200 foreign tourists stranded.
Five to six flights operate from Lukla airport on a daily basis, but they have been suspended due to bad weather conditions, said Phunuru Sherpa, in-charge of Tara Airlines.
Foreigners on their way back to Kathmandu after trekking in the Mt Everest region have been stranded, he said.
Some of them are worried that they are fast running out of money, he added.
