The office of Nepal Trust has finally come up with the regulations to conserve and rent out the properties owned by former king Birendra Shah and his family members.
In the absence of the regulations, the trust, which was set up nine years ago, had been unable to utilise the properties owned by the former monarch.
Trust Secretary Bhim Upadhyaya said the trust has taken over the ownership of 25,600 ropanis of land in the name of former king Birendra.
“The enactment of the regulations has paved the way for the trust to earn income by renting out the properties owned by the former royal family.” Upadhyaya said.
