The Divisional Road Office said Balephi, Jalbire and Jure are among the spots where the road has been hit by landslides. According to the office, massive landslides have occurred in Sirsire, Jambu, Sakhuwa, Banjijump, Chaku, Daklang, Jhirpu, Hindi, Dashkilo and Kodari.
Silden Tamang of Tatopani said there are difficulties in travelling from one place to another. “The landslides have swept away roads at Dugunagadhi, Taga, Tasithan, Bokchen and other villages,” he said.
Police Inspector Raju Pandey said vehicular movement along the rough roads in Listi, Gati, Marming and other villages near the Tibetan border were disrupted after rains.
Locals said the flooded Bhotekoshi river has been eroding land in Tatopani and Listi. Bus driver Subash BK said they are taking risks to drive along the Jure-Lamosanghu section. There were roadblocks at many places, he said.
