Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, a Maoist member of the team, said that during the meeting held at Singha Durbar, the members discussed ways to address the demands put forth by the agitating Madhes-based parties.
The Maoist Centre nominated Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Barshaman Pun and Pokhrel as the panel members. On Saturday the NC had named Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Bimalendra Nidhi and Ramesh Lekhak while Hridayesh Tripathi, Rajendra Shrestha and Kumar Lingden represent the Gathabandhan.
Lekhak said the meeting will continue on Monday. It would focus on commitment of the new government to resolving resentments in the Madhes that broke out around the promulgation of the new constitution last year. Pokhrel said the political and non-political demands of the agitating parties would be sorted before the modality of addressing them by the new government is spelt out. (PR)
