In a House meet on Monday, Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar informed that the election for new prime minister will be held at 11 am Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Parliament Secretariat has made public the election schedule. Aspiring PM candidates will register their candidacy at Parliament building in New Baneshwor from 11am to 4pm, Tuesday, according to the schedule.
Incumbent PM KP Oli tendered his resignation on July 24 after government coalition partner Maoist withdrew its support to the government. Subsequently, Maoist (Centre) and main opposition Nepali Congress registered 'no confidence motion' against the government at Legislature-Parliament.
It is almost certain that Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will become the new prime minister of the country as NC-Maoist alliance has clear majority.
