Will pay full attention to control price rise: PM Dahal
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the new Cabinet will get full shape within next few days.Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the new Cabinet will get full shape within next few days. He said that the Cabinet expansion is being delayed because the key ruling coalition Nepali Congress has remained busy in the general convention of its student wing Nepal Students Union (NSU).
Speaking at Reporters Club in Kathmandu on Wednesday, PM Dahal, who is also the chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre), said there is no problem for his party to pick ministers.
“We are holding talks with Nepali Congress regarding the Cabinet expansion. But it is getting delayed because of the NC is busy in NSU convention,” said Dahal. “Our party [CPN (Maoist Centre)] will immediately forward the names as soon as NC recommends name for appointment.”
PM Dahal said that the government has put the implementation of new constitution, post earthquake reconstruction, and controlling of corruption and black marketeering, in priority. He said that he has already directed government secretaries to expedite works to provide relief to the people.
Dahal expressed his worry over sharp rise in prices in Nepali market recently, though the prices are relatively shame in Indian market currently. “I will pay full attention to control the price rise and black marketeering,” said Dahal.
Saying that the post-earthquake reconstruction was moving at snail’s pace, PM Dahal said he had already directed, in his first Cabinet meeting, to provide first instalment of relief to the earthquake survivors.
Dahal said that it is his responsibility to strengthen internal national unity by resolving the issues of Mdhesi, Janjati, Tharu and other marginalised community so as to make the new constitution acceptable to everyone.
“The implementation of the new constitution is the need of the hour, everyone should be united for this,” he added. He expressed his worry that the country could head towards a crisis if the national unity is not improved. “The government has already taken initiatives to address the demands of Madhesi parties, and the constitution should be amended in order to resolve some demands, I will move ahead by maintaining the national unity.”
