Jumla folks celebrate 'Sano Paltan Jatra'

The festival falls on the third day of Gaijatra—a festival that is celebrated with satire and humor across the country. The second day of Gaijatra was celebrated as 'Ropai Jatra' on Saturday.
Participants presented and mocked the flourishing terrorism in the world, flashy songs of upcoming Teej festival, among other fun-filled acts, to entertain the onlookers.
According to the organising committee, Jumla has been observing the jatra since 1953. Panchebaja (a combination of five different traditional musical instruments), two traditional dances—Narad Rishi Naach and Bhote Naach, were presented during the jatra.
Likewise, another procession called 'Meem Wassa' was also presented during the jatra. People attaired in foreign dresses mocked French fashion in the procession.
Many other dances were performed with satire and sarcasm. Jumla witnesses a lively environment when Sano Paltan jatra is celebrated. People from all walks of life including youth and children thronged the street to observe the festival.
