Simrik Airlines returned to the air on Thursday after being grounded for 10 days due to the expiry of its flying licence.
Prajwol Thapa, chief of marketing and sales department at Simrik Airlines, said that operation would be resumed at 2:00pm.
The Cabinet meeting on Tuesday gave a go-ahead for the Tourism Ministry to renew the licence of the airline.
Following which, the ministry on Wednesday took a decision to renew the airline’s flying licence. The Air Operator Certificate (AOC) of the airline was also renewed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal on Wednesday.
On August 15, the aviation regulator had grounded all the aircraft of Simrik following the expiry of its flying licence.
As per the regulation, domestic airlines must renew their licenses every four years. They are also given a one year window to renew the permit after its expiry. The airline has extended its apology to passengers for the inconvenience.
