Newly appointed Health Minister Gagan Thapa has said that it is his moral responsibility to address the demands of Dr Govinda KC.

Minister Thapa, talking to media persons after assuming his office at Maitighat on Friday said that he will ‘definitely’ fulfil the demands put forth by Dr KC.

Minister Thapa along with 12 other ministers from Nepali Congress took the oath of office and secrecy from President Bidhya Devi Bhandari at the President's Office in Sheetal Niwas this morning. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal was also present during the occasion.

 "I have given special priority to three points which I will implement during my tenure as the minister," said Minister Thapa, "Along with constitution implementation, I will focus on tabling medical sector laws, building infrastructure and resource collection."

Thapa said that ‘good governance’ needs to be improved in order to solve the problems of malpractices in the health sector.
