NRNA UK Women Forum donates Rs 1m to children shelter

The women wing of the NRNA UK had collected 7,888 pounds from a charity event that was organised on the occasion of 106th International Women Day in March. The NRNA UK’s Women Coordinator Sushila Rai officially handed a cheque to Chetana Sandesh Nepal’s President Surendra Lama on Wednesday.
The handing over programme was attended by a number of other members, including NRNA’s International Coordination Council Member Sushma Rai, Adviser and Former General Secretary of NRNA UK Ram Sharan Simkhada, Spokesperson Khusi Limbu and Women Forum’s Deputy Coordinator Isha Gurung. Similarly, Local Development Officer of Sarlahi Raj Kumar Mahato and District Education Officer Badrinath Sharma were among the attendees.
Addressing the programme, Sushila Rai said that Nepali women residing in the United Kingdom have been working for humanitarian causes in Nepal and will continue to do so.
Spokesperson Khusi Limbu told the Post that the donated fund shall be used in order to upgrade current residence for war-afflicted children and orphans who lost both of their parents during the Maoist conflict.
