Human rights activists on Tuesday organised a sit-in in front of the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar demanding the government save the life of Ganga Maya Adhikari, who is on a fast-onto-death at Bir Hospital seeking justice for the murder of her son during the decade-long Maoist insurgency. 

As part of 'Save Ganga Maya Campaign', the activists with black armbands have taken to the streets and staged the sit-in from 9 to 10 am today.

The protesters have demanded justice for Ganga Maya. Ganga Maya, who has been staging hunger strike for the past 18 days, is receiving medical attention at the intensive care unit after her health deteriorated. 

Although Ganga Maya alongside her husband Nanda Prasad launched a hunger strike for the past six years, the latter lost his life to the battle for justice. 

Krishna Prasad, the youngest son to the Adhikari couple of Gorkha district's Fujel VDC, was killed during the Maoist insurgency following his abduction from Chitwan, where he had gone to meet his grandparents. Ganga Maya said that she would not end her strike until she gets justice. RSS
