UN Under Secretary General Atul Kher called on the prime minister at his Baluwatar residence and lauded Nepal’s active participation in the UN peacekeeping operations across the globe, particularly made by the Nepal Army, the Nepal Police, and the Armed Police Force, according to a press statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.
Kher also assured Dahal that the UN was ready to offer all kind of cooperation to complete the remaining task of Nepal’s peace process.
Prime Minister Dahal told UN Under Secretary Kher that Nepal was fully committed to the UN Charter. He also said that Nepal was willing to increase its participation in UN peacekeeping mission.
Valerie Julliand, the UN resident coordinator and UNDP resident representative, also called on Prime Minister Dahal at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar.
She enquired the prime minister about his government’s plans to conclude the peace process and expedite the post-earthquake recovery works, among others, the statement said.
According to the statement, Prime Minister Dahal told Ju that his government was working to implement the Constitution, conclude the peace process and expedite post-earthquake reconstruction and rebuilding works.
