Organised by Word Warriors, the spearhead of spoken word poetry in Nepal, in partnership with Quixote’s Cove, the competition—titled QC Awards 2016: National Poetry Slam—will feature eight teams (each representing their hometowns—Ilam, Dhangadi, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Surkhet, Chitwan, Pokhara and Kavre), who will compete against each other, during the event in the Capital.
The competing teams (each comprising four poets) were selected through regional auditions that took place earlier this year across the aforementioned eight venues.
The semifinals of the event will see the teams divided under two pools; out of which, four teams will advance for the final round. The semifinals is slated to take place at the Sarwanam Theatre, on September 2, 10: 30 am onwards.
Meanwhile, the grand finale will be held in two rounds; and the cumulative top scorer will be announced the winner. The finale is scheduled to take place at Rastriya Nach Ghar on Saturday, 2 pm onwards.
