Submitting property details is the mandatory provision and according to the guideline, PM, deputy PM, minister, state minister and assistant minister should submit details of their movable and immovable property by 15 days.
But the PM, his deputies—Bimalendra Nidhi and Krishna Bahadur Mahara, 24 Cabinet ministers and four state ministers have not submitted their property details yet, according to sources at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The section 50 of the Corruption Prevention Act, 2002, mandates ministers to submit their property details and the failure to do so attracts a fine of Rs50,000 under the existing law.
Chief Secretary Som Lal Subedi had already reminded the Cabinet for the property details but without success, said a secretary at the PMO.
