During the meeting on Friday, Minister Mahat briefed the world body head that the constitution implementation is the primary focus of the current government, the minister told the Post over the phone from New York. “The talks were primarily focused on the constitution implementation,” Mahat said. “I told Secretary-General Ban that holding elections is the first step towards implementing the constitution and the government is making efforts into building a consensus.”
In reply, according to Mahat, Ban appraised the task of constitution promulgation in Nepal and wished for its successful implementation.
On Friday, Minister Mahat attended the 15th annual ministerial meeting of the Landlocked Developing Countries.
