Electing to field first in a rain-affected game, Warriors restricted Rhinos to 110-6 with the game reduced to 16-over-a-side after the game halted for more than 45 minutes in the ninth over. Warriors were presented with a revised target of 114. Warriors were reduced to 23-2 in the third over but Khadka once again led from the front taking the team to 117-3 in 13.3 overs.
Khadka, who had slammed a 45-ball 99 in the match against Sagarmatha Legends, resumed from where he had left in the last game clubbing unbeaten 56 off 38 with seven fours and two sixes. He shared 85 runs for the third wicket with Sagar Pun who made 23 off 26.
It was Amit Shrestha and Prem Tamang who had given Rhinos a fighting total scoring 67 runs in the last seven overs with the team resuming from 43-3 in nine overs. Shrestha hit three sixes in his 24-ball 39 and Tamang scored 26 off 30 with two fours. Ram Naresh Giri picked up 3-25 from three overs for Warriors.
“We had upper hand in the game due to rain but our bowlers bowled pretty well. We had a good start and we knew that if we score good runs in the power play, we will be able to catch up. And everything went according to plan for us,” said Khadka.
