Ex Home Minister Ghimire’s effigy cremated at Aryaghat

Effigies of the missing persons were made out of Kush, a holy grass according to Hindu tradition, after the rescue workers failed to find the traces of the bodies even after intense search operation.
Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi, among other officials reached Aryaghat to offer their final tributes to late Ghimire.
Three persons including former Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire and his two brothers went missing and three others including his mother, nephew relative and his body guard died after a jeep plunged into the Trishuli river at Dahrechok-3 in Chitwan district on Sunday afternoon. The driver of the jeep, Bishnu Rai was rescued alive.
The bodies of his mother and two others were recovered from water near the site at Ghoptebhir around 150 metres below the Prithvi Highway.
