Ruslan Kite Fiesta in Pokhara
To occasion Dashain, KGH Hotel Waterfront Resort, Pokhara, will be organising Ruslan Kite Fiesta (Changa Mahotsav, 2017). Among the attractions of the event will be a kite flying competition that will feature contestants representing major corporate houses of Nepal.
“The fest is going to be organised with an aim to promote and preserve our culture and tradition,” the organisers mentioned in a press note. “Kite flying has cultural mainstay in Nepal’s history and is an important tradition during Dashain.”
Along with the competition, the fest will also feature food stalls and musical performances, notably by the legendary rock band 1974 AD.
“Another motive of organising this event is to promote our tourism industry, especially our internal tourism,” organisers mentioned, “We can’t just depend upon foreign tourists to promote our tourism industry; our government, NGOs and private companies should come forward with plans to develop the industry.”
The fiesta has been sponsored by Ruslan Vodka, and is supported by Sherpa Beer, Pepsi, Junction dot com, and Sound Garden, among others.
The competing teams will comprise of two individuals each. The winning team will receive a shield, and certificates.
