Nepal defeat China to register first win

The victory is also Nepal’s first in seven years against China.
Chasing 95 runs for victory, Nepal bundled out the Chinese side on 75 runs for eight at Kowloon Cricket Club. Sita Rana Magar claimed three wickets while Sabnam Rai had two to her name.
It was an improved batting performance from the Nepali side which had gone down against Hong Kong by six wickets and Thailand by three wickets in their first two matches. Nary Thapa topped the Nepali scoring board with 38 runs. Nirmala Kumari Shahi also contributed 14 runs while Jyoti Panday added 10 runs later on.
The victory had also kept alive Nepal’s chances of playing World Cup global qualifying tournament. Nepal will now play against Hong Kong on Thursday.
