Dr KC, who has been staging several rounds of hunger strikes demanding reforms in medical education sector, had put forth the demand of impeachment motion against CIAA chief Karki during his eighth and ninth hunger strike.
“Though late, it’s a welcome move. I urge the lawmakers to conclude the impeachment process at the earliest and sack Karki among others found guilty,” Dr KC said. He has also been demanding that CIAA commissioner Rajnarayan Pathak should be impeached.
He added that it’s an opportunity for the lawmakers to maintain the rule of law and make the people feel the good governance.
"The IoM would always get phone calls or letters from CIAA either putting pressure on us to grant affiliation to medical colleges or to allocate medical seats," said Dr Govinda KC, an anti-corruption crusader, who has always protested against undue interference of CIAA in medical sector. He was the first person to stage a public protest demanding impeachment of Karki. "Our protest against Karki was for such interference."
Dr KC has also warned to resort to another round f hunger strike if his demands for reforms in medical education, health service sector and good governance were not addressed, or attempts were made revoke the other achievements.
