A Day in the Life of Kathmandu launched

A compilation of 130 photographs, the book is dedicated to the survivors of the earthquake that hit Nepal in April last year. The book, conceived by Ashraf after the earthquake, is a tribute to the city and the people of Kathmandu. Speaking at the programme, social entrepreneur Anil Chitrakar lauded Ashraf for compiling the book with utmost sensitivity and a deep-rooted love for the city. The launch also included a performance by the students of the Indian Culture Centre (ICC).
Jawed Ashraf is an Indian Foreign Service Officer who served at Embassy of India, Kathmandu
from 2004 to 2007. Apart from his tenure in Nepal, Ashraf has also served in Frankfurt, Berlin and Washington DC. Addressing the audience at the event Dr Mahat
stated that through the book Ashraf has become an “Ambassador of Nepal to the World”.
Previously, a copy of the book had been gifted by the Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, to prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal during his visit to India in September, 2016.
