KMC racks up nearly Rs3m in 3 months from Ratna Park

Chief of Ratna Park and Rani Pokhari Hari Sharan KC said that the number of visitors has been growing steadily after the internet service was added to the park facility last year. The metropolis had earned Rs8.52 million in revenue from entry fee last year.
“People come with their laptops and spend hours here,” KC noted. “Even elderly people come to spend times leisurely. This park has a peaceful place in the middle of the crowded city.”
The park has been maintaining cleanliness and other facilities.
Cleanliness, well-maintained lush greenery coupled with other amenities have been a big draw among the public. The place is also gaining popularity among makers of music videos.
According to KC, the metropolis raised over Rs67,000 from video shootings of Teej songs. The KMC charges Rs4,000 for a video shoot, Rs5,000 for TV serials, Rs7,000 for feature films and Rs10,000 for foreign movies.
Entry fee to the park is Rs 25 and Rs 15 for students. Elderly people get free entry to the park.
The park, which spreads over 42 ropanis of land, was reopened in June last year, after renovation works that lasted almost a year. The park opens throughout a week, from 8am to 6pm.
