A large amount of substandard edible oil imported from India through Chauri Pathauri border in Bara district has been confiscated on Thursday.
Bara Chief District Officer Mukesh Kesari said that 17,000 litres of date-expired refined soyabean oil was found at Sudarshan Dangal’s godown in Nijgadh-8, Bakaiya tole during the inspection of District Market Inspection Committee. Kesari further said that inspection has been carried out to stop malpractices during the festive season.
The committee had guarded the godown through the local police after information about the activity had reached the committee. The godown belonging to Isha suppliers was sealed and the committee started further investigation into it
