CNI sets up think-tank
The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has set up “CNI-Think Tank” which will work with government agencies in formulating suitable policies to boost economic growth and attract investment in the manufacturing sector.The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has set up “CNI-Think Tank” which will work with government agencies in formulating suitable policies to boost economic growth and attract investment in the manufacturing sector.
The think-tank is headed by former permanent residential representative to the United Nations Shambhu Ram Simkhada.
The members include Shankar Prasad Koirala, Umakanta Jha, Shankar Prasad Sharma, Govinda Raj Pokharel, Bindu Lohani, Purushottam Ojha and Krishna Gyawali.
Kishore Thapa, Sureshman Shrestha, Subas KC, Himalaya Thapa, Govinda Prasad Thapa, Meena Vaidya Mall and Bishwa Poudel are other members of the think-tank.
At a time when the country has been facing slow economic growth, deepening trade deficit and persistent unemployment, the think-tank will promote economic agendas, according to CNI.
The think-tank will also make recommendations to the government while formulating new policies.
