Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that constitution will be amended soon and elections will be held subsequently as major opposition CPN-UML has shown positive signs regarding constitution amendment.

"Talks with Madhes-based parties and UML regarding constitution amendment have remained positive," said Deuba while talking to journalists at Dhangadi Airport on Thursday.

"The amendment was delayed because of some disagreements on state demarcation," said Deuba, "I have personally talked with leaders of Madhes-centric parties. The problems will be resolved soon."

He asserted that there was no dispute in demarcation of Far-Western region. "Borders of far western won't be altered," said Deuba.

This is the first time that Deuba visited far west Nepal after being elected to Nepali Congress' President post.
