Protests broke out in Arghakhanchi and Butwal and they have enforced general strike in Gulmi since this morning.
Likewise in Palpa, locals and various political parties stage demonstration in the district from 1pm. They also announced strike in Palpa on December 3.
Locals and Nepal Students' Association (NSU) led by the All Nepal National Free Students' Union (ANNFSU) have obstructed the movement of vehicles in Butwal. The vehicles plying along the East-West Highway and Siddhartha Highway have been affected due to the strike.
The protesters burnt tyres and chanted slogans saying that the protest will be continued until the government withdraws the constitution amendment proposal.
Likewise, the proposal of splitting of province 5 and 6 in the amendment proposal to accommodate the demands of Madhes-based parties have angered the locals of Palpa, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi, where protests are taking place.
Similarly, all political parties have called for an indefinite banda in Gulmi district against the government move. Various protests programmes are being organised in the district with a huge number of locals participating in the agitation.
Meanwhile, vehicular movement was obstructed at Dang after locals organised a one-hour strike from 10am to 11am, expressing dissent over government's recommendation to split Province 5 in the amendment bill.
