Hundreds of people took to the streets of Bhairahawa in Rupandehi district on Tuesday accusing the government of attempting to split province no 5 through the constitution amendment.
In a rally organised by Siddhartha Chambers of Commerce and Industry, a large number of people from dozens of organisations and people marked their presence in the rally. The rally began from Lumbini gate at Buddha Chok and marched around major thoroughfares including Barmalitole, Narayansthan, Bidhrohi Chok, Milan Chok, Bank Road, Devkota Chok, and Nayasadak, before converging into a corner meeting.
President of Siddhartha Chambers of Commerce and Industry Rajkumar Sharma said the splitting of province no 5 would not be acceptable under any circumstances. He added that the separation of hill districts from province 5 would cause a huge financial loss.
