A jeep (Ba 9 Cha 1531) carrying Ghimire had fell off the road and plunged into the Trishuli river on September 24 while he was returning with his family members to Kathmandu after performing Sorha Shradha—an annual commemorative ceremony in honour of deceased ancestors—in Kagbeni of Mustang district.
The investigation committee led by former Inspector General of Police Kuber Singh Rana submitted the report to Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi on Thursday.
According to the report, the accident was not premeditated and Ghimire himself was driving during the time of accident.
After receiving the report, Minister Nidhi assured that the government would implement the report.
The committee was charged with the responsibility to conduct investigation of a bus accident that took place at Marpak in Dhading district. The panel has also tabled the report of the bus accident today.
