Parliamentarians of seven parties including UML, CPN-ML, Rastriya Janamorcha, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, Nepal Pariwar Dal, Nepa Rastriya Party and Rastriya Janamukti Party (Loktantrik) among others disrupted the parliament business.
They reiterated that they will continue with the obstruction unless their demands are addressed.
The UML as well as other parties have been obstructing parliamentary proceedings since the government registered the constitution amendment bill at the Legislature-Parliament on November 29.
Speaker Onsari Gharti announced the postponement of parliament meeting until December 15 after Shiva Lal Thapa of Rastriya Janamukti Party Lokatantrik Nepal repeated his stance that the House proceedings will be obstructed until the newly registered bill is revoked.
Prior to that, Speaker Gharti urged the protesting parliamentarians not to impede the proceedings, stating that many new laws and acts needed to be formulated to hold all three level elections by mid-February, 2018.
The next meeting of Legislature-Parliament will be held on December 15 at 11 am. RSS
