In the meeting, according to a statement issued by the PM’s Secretariat, Wollack hailed the positive role played by the United Nations and its partner agencies in Nepal’s peace process. Stating that Nepal’s peace process is exemplary and unique in nature, Wollack also thanked PM Dahal for taking the lead.
Commending the contribution of the UN and its specialised agencies in Nepal’s peace process, PM Dahal also sought positive contribution from the international community in Nepal’s bid achieve development and prosperity.
Frieden pledges Swiss support
KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Swiss Ambassador Jorg Giovanni Frieden on Monday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Monday. During the meeting, Frieden expressed confidence that Nepal would succeed in its bid to implement the constitution and embark on the path of prosperity. He also pledged continued Swiss support to the Nepal for effective implementation of the new constitution. Dahal expressed gratitude for the support the Swiss government has provided in Nepal’s development efforts.
Teplitz meets DPM Nidhi
KATHMANDU: US Ambassador Alaina B Teplitz called on Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi at the latter’s office on Monday.
During the meeting, Teplitz said the US wants to see peace and progress in Nepal, according to Ramji Dahal, press coordinator of DPM Nidhi. The duo also discussed bilateral issues and areas of cooperation between Nepal and the US.
Both also exchanged views on Nepal’s contemporary political situation, transitional justice and efforts being made by the government to conclude the peace process, added Dahal.
DPM Nidhi also thanked the US government for its assistance in Nepal’s development and expressed hope of continued American assistance to Nepal, according to Dahal.
The US ambassador in response pledged continued support from the US government in Nepal’s development efforts, he said. (PR)
