Buddha’s tale enacted on stage

The play written, directed, and enacted by the trainees, presents the story of Lord Buddha in a unique way.
The play depicting the tale of Lord Buddha shows various stages and difficulties faced by Buddha on his way to enlightenment. The first stage depicts the qualms that king Chakrawarti faces on hearing the prophecy about his son turning into an ascetic in the future. Then the second stage which takes place after Buddha leaves his kingdom in search of peace to the jungle, shows various obstacles that Buddha faces while meditating.
The play also depicts many characters that played important role in Buddha’s life.
Speaking about the effort of the trainees, director of Sarwanam theatre, Asheh Malla said, “This small step taken by our students can prove to be the beginning of big opportunities that await the writers, directors, as well as actors. I am very impressed and proud of their performance in this play and can say that Nepali theatre has a bright future.”
The drama is presented by Nitanta Malla Dahal, Rinesk Basnet, Sagun Tamang, and Roshan Aryal, among others.
The play is on at Sarwanam theatre from 4:30 pm onwards till Dec 25, 2016.
