Inspector General of Police (IGP) Upendra Kant Aryal inaugurated the six-room building on Monday. The division office had been operating from the Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City building at Pulchowk for long.

Police officials have moved into the new address feeling safer. “We had to take care of people’s life, but our own life was at risk working out from the old building,” said Inspector Resham Bohara, who is also an in-charge of the division. “The entire team is feeling much secured now.”
Out of a total provision for 95 staff in the roster, the division currently has 76. The division office is using five rooms in the Department of Archaeology building nearby.
The new structure was built with the government aid and donations from the locals.
