The Japan government has pledged an assistance of around Rs 1 billion to Nepal government for the executions of Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) and food security programme.
The agreements to this end were signed in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
As per the agreements, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) will provide Rs 692 million to improve medical equipment, service and education at the TUTH.
The Japan government will also provide another Rs 321 million to support the Nepal government’s food security programme.
