NC, SLMM agree to present amendment bill for House deliberations

A joint meeting of the NC and SLMM held on Friday at NC Parliamentary Party Office in Singha Durbar took the decision to this effect.
Some dissenting voices were raising within the NC against the idea of pushing forward the proposal for endorsement.
Talking to media-persons after the meeting, NC leader Gopal Man Shrestha said the amendment bill and election-related bill would be presented in the next meeting of Legislature-Parliament and main opposition CPN-UML would be consulted on the matter.
"The bills will be endorsed even if Parliamentary affairs get obstructed," he said.
Raj Kishor Yadav, Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal-Ganatantrik, a constituent party of SLMM, said the government had registered the amendment proposal in Parliament with NC support and that they would fully cooperate in presenting it in Parliament for deliberation.
He also said the proposal should be endorsed for holding all three tiers of elections within the stipulated time of January 2018.
Present in the meeting were NC President Shre Bahadur Deuba, leaders Shrestha, Prakash Man Singh, leaders from UDMF including Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur, Co-Chairman of Sadbhawana Party Laxman Lal Karna and Tarai-Madhes Sadbhawana Party Chairman Mahendra Raya Yadav. RSS
