Indian woman dies in wild tusker attack

Jan 11, 2017-An Indian tourist died after being attacked by a wild elephant inside the Chitwan National Park on Tuesday.

Sneha Kanpara, 21, who was on her way to an elephant breeding centre with her family, was attacked by an adult male elephant. She died during treatment at the Chitwan Medical College, police said.

Sneha’s parents, her grandmother and brother managed to escape unhurt.

Police said the incident took place as the family was on their way to the Khorshore Elephant Breeding Centre inside Bagmara Community Forest. 

Sneha’s body was handed over to her family after post-mortem.
