A taste of North-east India
In preparation for the scheduled celebrations for India’s 68th Republic Day, a two-week art exhibit opened at the Siddhartha Art Gallery in the Capital on Saturday, Jan 14.In preparation for the scheduled celebrations for India’s 68th Republic Day, a two-week art exhibit opened at the Siddhartha Art Gallery in the Capital on Saturday, Jan 14. The exhibit is the first round of fest Days of North-east Cultural Festival: Namaste Nepal. The event was launched by the Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae.
The first leg of the exhibition features artworks by Riti Academy of Visual Arts, from North-east India and will continue until January 18 at its current venue. The exhibit then will travel to various other cities in the country including Patan, Bhaktapur, Dharan, Biratnagar, Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, and Birgunj.
Speaking at the event, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae said, “With this travelling exhibit, we hope that people from various parts of Nepal will have the opportunity to interact with the different facets and layers of the North-east Indian arts and cultures.”
India’s Republic Day which falls on January 26 will see a range of other cultural presentations in the Capital and the mofussil as well.
