A total of 18 technicians from both the countries have been mobilised to repair main, subsidiary and minor pillars in the border areas. There were 1,059 border pillars in Parsa district. Of them, 288 pillars (276 minor, three subsidiary and nine main) are missing.
Survey Officer Ramesh Gyewali said they are also repairing damaged border pillars in the district. “The team will start construction of missing pillars after the team completes technical work,” said Gyewali.
In Thori of Parsa, the team constructed four new pillars after settling the border dispute last year. Gyewali said the team is also studying the encroachment of no-man’s-land in the area.
“We have completed the mapping of land from Bhispa to Thori. The team members are conducting study in other border stretches too,” he said.
