Legislation Committee passes bills on voters' list and election commission

The bill relating to voters' list has made it mandatory the voters' ID card bearing image to cast vote any election- the federal, provincial and local, said Committee member Dr Gangadhar Tuladhar.
Similarly, the bill relating on election commission has the provision that government would fix the dates of the elections. However, the consultation with Election Commission is mandatory before the announcement.
Both of these bills would be presented in the parliament meeting on Tuesday.
The political parties have been preparing to pass both bills quickly with representative views of the parties during the discussion.
Even a subcommittee has been formed to pass the election related bills on time. Currently, the subcommittee is thoroughly discussing the bill on political parties.
Constitutionally, Nepal is mandated to hold the elections in all three levels within a year. RSS
